The Ministry of Education was established in 1848 and is one of Denmark’s longest functioning ministries. Today, the Ministry of Education employs more than 550 people and the assignments include everything from being of service to the minister to the development of the content, goals and quality of education.
The Ministry of Education includes three directorates – the Agency for the Evaluation and Quality of Primary and Lower Secondary Education, UNI-C, and the Danish Educational Support Agency.
The Agency for the Evaluation and Quality of Primary and Lower Secondary Education maintains a number of areas including the evaluation and development of quality of the Primary and Lower Secondary Education.
UNI-C has the responsibility of creating combined it-solutions in the field of education. Finally, the Danish Educational Support Agency is responsible for the administration and payment of Educational Support and other payments to students.
